Glossary term: Dwarf Star
Description: Dwarf stars are stars of low brightness (V or less), mass, and size. All but the hottest and most massive stars in the main sequence of the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram can be described as dwarf stars. Main sequence dwarf stars include red dwarfs, yellow dwarfs, orange dwarfs and blue dwarfs. Stellar remanants like white dwarfs and black dwarfs as well as brown dwarfs (substellar objects) are often classified as dwarf stars.Related Terms:
