这张令人惊叹的照片捕捉到了夜空中月虹和月光布罗肯光环的奇观，拍摄地点位于日本长野县飞驒山脉的燕岳。这两种大气现象都是由于月光被水滴反射和折射而形成的。月虹或月光虹是一种罕见的现象，只有在特定条件下才会出现：需要有明亮的满月（月亮高度低于42°）、月亮在一侧、雨在月亮的对侧，并且夜空足够黑。布罗肯光环得名于德国哈茨山脉的最高峰——布罗肯山，这是首次记录到这一现象的地方。在这里，布罗肯光环从山顶上可见，其表现为观察者的影子放大投射在云上，周围环绕着由同心圆组成的光环。这些光环的中心点正对着背景中明亮的月亮。

Waxing crescent moon

Waning gibbous moon

During this lunar phase, we see most of the Moon's illuminated half with the unilluminated half only appearing as a dark crescent on the right. This phase comes after full moon and before last quarter moon (sometimes called half moon) .
