Glossarbegriffe: Schwerkraft

Also known as Gravitation oder Gravitationskraft

Description: Die Schwerkraft ist die gegenseitige Anziehung von Objekten mit Masse. In der klassischen Mechanik übt jedes Objekt mit einer Masse immer eine Anziehungskraft auf ein anderes Objekt mit einer Masse aus. Diese Anziehungskraft ist uns als Gravitation oder Gravitationskraft bekannt. Einsteins Allgemeine Relativitätstheorie beschreibt die Gravitation nicht als eine Kraft, sondern als eine Krümmung der Raumzeit. Trotzdem reicht die klassische Beschreibung der Gravitation als eine Kraft in den meisten Fällen immer noch aus. Je massereicher ein Objekt ist, desto stärker ist seine Schwerkraft/desto stärker krümmt es die Raumzeit und es zieht deshalb andere Objekte umso stärker an.
