Description: Ein optisches Teleskop ist ein Instrument zur Beobachtung und Untersuchung astronomischer Objekte im sichtbaren (optischen) Licht. Optische Teleskope verwenden Spiegel (Spiegelteleskope) und/oder Linsen (Linsenteleskope oder Linsenfernrohr), um Licht zu sammeln und zu bündeln. Teleskope wurden ursprünglich entwickelt, um weit entfernte Objekte auf der Erde zu beobachten, wurden aber schon bald für astronomische Zwecke eingesetzt. Die Größe von Teleskopen reicht von wenigen Zentimetern bis zu Durchmessern von über zehn Metern.
