Also known as Índice cromático, índice de color espectral,

Description: El índice de color de un objeto celeste, principalmente estrellas, es una medida numérica que representa la diferencia entre sus magnitudes, utilizando para ello dos filtros diferentes. Los filtros más comunes son U (ultravioleta), B (azul), V (visual, verde-amarillo), R(rojo) e I (infrarrojo).
Un índice de color bajo señala que el objeto es más azul y más caliente. Y un índice de color alto indica que el objeto es más rojo y frío.
