Glossary term: نصف‌النهار

Also known as نیمروزان

Description: خطوط طول جغرافیایی را نصف‌النهار هم می‌نامند. نصف‌النهار مبدأ به عنوان خط صفر درجه طول جغرافیایی تعریف می‌شود. این خط از گرینویچ در لندن، انگلستان عبور می‌کند و نصف‌النهار گرینویچ نیز نامیده می‌شود. نصف‌النهار ۱۸۰ درجه (آنتی‌مریدین) در نیمه دیگر کره زمین در طول جغرافیایی ۱۸۰ درجه قرار دارد و مبنای خط بین‌المللی زمان (خط روزگَردان) است.
