Glossary term: Pollution lumineuse
Description: La pollution lumineuse est la présence d'un éclairage artificiel excessif ou défectueux (émis dans une direction au-dessus de l'horizon), tel que les lampadaires, qui provoque l'éclaircissement du ciel nocturne. Cette pollution est inappropriée car elle perturbe l'observation des étoiles, des planètes et d'autres objets astronomiques, et modifie les écosystèmes et de nombreux cycles naturels qui affectent les êtres vivants. En outre, la pollution lumineuse constitue une utilisation inefficace des finances et des ressources.
