Description: Les ondes radio sont la partie du spectre électromagnétique qui présente la plus grande longueur d'onde, la plus basse fréquence et la plus faible énergie. Elles vont d'une longueur d'onde la plus courte d'environ 1 millimètre et d'une fréquence de 300 gigahertz, à plusieurs kilomètres de longueur d'onde et plusieurs mégahertz de fréquence. Notre atmosphère est transparente pour la majeure partie de cette bande d'ondes, ce qui permet d'installer des radiotélescopes au sol.
