Glossary term: Amas de galaxies
Description: Un amas de galaxies est un ensemble de galaxies liées par la gravitation. Les amas de galaxies peuvent varier en taille et en concentration, contenant des centaines à des milliers de galaxies. L'amas de la Vierge, qui est l'amas de galaxies le plus proche, est un exemple de grand amas contenant des milliers de galaxies. Outre les galaxies, les amas contiennent également du plasma et de grandes quantités de matière noire.
