1st Shaw Prize-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education was held in Paris from the 17th to the 19th of December 2021. The workshop was dedicated to discussions for the future role and network of the OAE in the global astronomy education community. The workshop saw the announcement that the OAE would be hosted by Haus der Astronomie in Heidelberg.

The Office of Astronomy for Education is an office of the International Astronomical Union, with substantial funding from the Klaus Tschira Foundation and the Carl Zeiss Foundation.
