"COSMOS" is the upcoming world's first commercial 8K-resolution LED dome planetarium in the city of Mysuru, Karnataka, India. While awaiting construction, the IIA has started a comprehensive education and outreach program in the city and its neighbourhoods. One of the main objectives is to use the LED dome to train students in data analysis using current data from telescopes, as well as to incorporate all major STEM events.
We have started education & outreach programs in the district and aim to extend them to neighbouring districts as well. We are building a common platform for educators, science communicators, and other stakeholders in the area. In this talk, I will describe our programs, methodology, and their efficacy and end with future plans to use the facilities of the planetarium.
