Description: 银河晕是一个大致呈球形分布的恒星、气体和暗物质区域，它延伸在银河系的盘面之上、之下以及之外。与银河系星盘中的大多数恒星相比，星晕中的恒星更为古老，金属含量也更低。在太阳周围区域，只有百分之几的恒星来自银晕。银晕中还有球状星团。
一个看不见的暗物质晕也延伸穿过银河并环绕着银河系，它包含了银河系的大部分质量。
大多数其他星系也有星系晕。
