Description: 地球的磁场比较简单，近似于物理学家所说的偶极磁场，与玩具条形磁铁的磁场没有什么不同。如果将罗盘针悬挂起来，使其可以向各个方向自由移动，就可以追踪地球磁场的方向。在赤道附近，磁场方向几乎与地面平行，但当你靠近地球的南北两极时，磁场方向就会转向垂直地面的方向。在所谓的磁北极和磁南极，罗盘针是垂直的。地磁极与地理极并不一致。磁极会移动，目前每年大约移动 50 公里，这是使用指南针的航海者需要考虑的因素。
