Glossary term: 流星体
Description: 流星体是指小行星或彗星的碎片,大小范围从几毫米到数十米不等。无论该天体是否有大气层,流星体都可以以极高的速度向任何天体坠落。如果天体有大气层,流星体会因与大气分子碰撞而减速。我们在地球大气层中观测的流星体就是流星。如果流星体未在大气中完全烧毁(或者如果天体没有大气层),它会落到该天体的表面,此时称之为陨石。
