Description: 星族是一个描述恒星集合的术语。一般来说，星族是指任何恒星群体，例如星系的星族。
更具体地说，这个术语通常用来指代组成星团或星系的不同恒星群。这些恒星群可能有不同的年龄或金属丰度，也可能有不同的起源。
银河系中的恒星通常被分为星族I星（银盘中较年轻、金属性较高的恒星）和星族II星（银晕中较年老、金属性较低的恒星）。星族III星是理论上金属丰度极低的恒星群。星族III星被认为是大爆炸后形成的第一代恒星。
