Glossary term: 太阳黑子周期
Description: 太阳上形成的太阳黑子数量具有一个大概 11 年的周期变化，与太阳活动的强弱变化相对应。一个新的太阳黑子周期开始于太阳活动最小期之后，此时太阳几乎没有黑子。在新的太阳黑子周期开始时，太阳黑子会在距离太阳赤道大约+/- 30度（北纬或南纬）的纬度上形成。随着周期的继续，新的太阳黑子会在更靠近太阳赤道的纬度形成。经过一段时间后，随着太阳活动周期从太阳活动最大值转向太阳活动最小值，形成的太阳黑子数量会减少，这表明太阳活动周期结束。
