Glossary term: 宇宙

Description: 宇宙,包含空间、时间、物质、能量、物体、现象以及支配基本机制的定律。宇宙(universe) 在英文中还可以译为“cosmos”,因为宇宙的所有方面都汇集在一个 "有序 "的系统中。当然,这两个术语在技术上有细微的差别。宇宙源于拉丁语 universus。科学家描述的宇宙通常指可观测的宇宙,“可观测”一词以强调目前的宇宙只可观测和测量宇宙有限的范围。
