Description: 奥尔特云是太阳系外的一个假想区域，被认为是长轨道周期彗星的起源地。奥尔特云可能包含数十亿个太阳系形成时遗留下来的小型冰体。它被认为是长周期彗星的储藏库。偶尔，这些冰冻小天体中的一个会被另一个冰体或一颗经过太阳系的恒星的引力扰乱轨道。这可能会使冰体坠落到太阳系内部，成为一颗彗星。奥尔特云可能从几千个天文单位（AU）延伸到十几万个天文单位（AU），是太阳最近的恒星半人马座距离的一半。奥尔特云内部可能是一个甜甜圈形状，但外部可能是一个球形外壳。
