Description: 矮星系是一种小星系，由于体积非常小，或者表面亮度非常低（或者两者兼而有之），而异常暗淡。通常情况下，矮星系的亮度最多是太阳亮度的十亿倍，相当于我们的银河系亮度的不到百分之一。矮星系有许多不同的类型，包括矮椭圆星系、矮球星系、矮漩涡星系和矮不规则星系。其中最重要的矮星系之一就是小麦哲伦云，它是我们的银河系的一颗矮不规则卫星星系。
