Glossary term: 电磁力

Description: 继根据19 世纪的法拉第和麦克斯韦的研究,物理学家认为空间中充满电场和磁场。运动的电荷会在其周围产生这样的电磁场,反过来,电荷的运动也会受到其所在位置电场和磁场的影响。正电荷会沿着电场的方向加速运动,负电荷则相反;运动中的电荷会在垂直于其运动方向的磁场作用下发生偏转。这两种场对电荷影响的总称就是电磁力。恒星、气体云、整个星系或漩涡吸积盘等天体都有大尺度磁场,在这些地方,电磁力会变得非常重要。
