Description: 光譜類型為“F”的恆星。天文學家通過光譜中存在的中等強度的電離鈣線和其他一些原子金屬線以及微弱的氫吸收線來識別 F 型恆星。它們的典型(有效)溫度大約在6000開爾文(K)到7400開爾文之間。與其他恆星相比,它們在人眼中呈現白色或黃白色,除非受到星際或大氣的影響導致發紅。北極星就是 F 型星的一個例子。
