Description: 溫室效應是指由於諸如水蒸氣、甲烷和二氧化碳等氣體的排放,使大氣變暖的現象。來自太陽的可見光到達行星表面後,以紅外輻射的形式重新發射出去。溫室氣體將這些紅外輻射困在大氣中,無法逃逸到外太空,這使得行星比沒有這些氣體時溫度更高。如果沒有溫室效應,地球的溫度將比現在低幾十攝氏度,遠低於0攝氏度。然而,溫室效應所導致的平衡溫度對大氣中溫室氣體的濃度非常敏感。

自19世紀工業革命以來,人類排放的溫室氣體導致了地球上的全球變暖,這是溫室效應的結果。
