Description: 地平線是將天空與地球表面分開的邊界線。在地球上的任何位置，我們都只能看到地表有限的一部分。我們所能看到的部分與我們所不能看到的部分之間的分界線通常稱為地平線。在天文學中，這一定義細化如下：我們在地球上的某一位置處，先用鉛垂線找出向下的方向，接著將垂直於下方的平面定義為地平面。地平面與天球的交點即為我們的天文本地地平。地平坐標系利用地平面來定義天體在天空中的位置。我們看到天體的視線與地平面之間的夾角稱為天體的高度角；視線在地平面上的投影與真北之間的夾角稱為天體的方位角。
