Description: 鐵隕石是含有大量鐵和鎳的隕石。它們被認為是小行星核心的一部分，密度很高，重量也很大。儘管鐵隕石只占撞擊地球表面的隕石總數的 5%，但在地球上發現的隕石中卻幾乎有 60% 是鐵隕石。其中一個原因是它們更堅固，不像石隕石那樣容易風化。
