Description: 不規則星系是一種對稱性很低或不對稱的星系（其具有扭曲的形態或形狀）。它們通常比螺旋星系和橢圓星系小，通常含有大量的恆星形成氣體。大麥哲倫星雲和小麥哲倫星雲是不規則星系，距離我們的銀河系相對較近（分別約為 16 萬光年和 20 萬光年），可以在地球南半球用肉眼觀測到。
