Glossary term: 經度

Description: 地球是一個球體,為了定義地球表面上的位置,地球表面被繪上了兩組假想線。經線是穿過地球南北兩極的大圓線。赤道可以作為緯度0度的自然參考位置,但0度經線的位置需要人為確定。國際公認的0度經線穿過英國倫敦的格林尼治,因此也被稱為本初子午線或格林尼治子午線。位於地球另一側的180度經線稱為對跖子午線,基於此設立了國際日期變更線。地球周長共360度。此外,那些與赤道平行的小圓線被稱為緯線。
