Glossary term: 導航
Description: 導航是確定自己在地球或太空中的位置、預定的行進方向以及如何到達目的地的過程。在歷史上,太陽和星星在導航中起到了重要作用。最簡單的情況,在北半球的晴朗夜晚,可以通過北極星確定北方的位置,並據此選擇行進方向;而在南半球,南十字星指向的是南方。在現代導航設備發展之前,“天體導航”是導航的關鍵方法。導航員會通過測量中午太陽在地平線上的角度來推算自己的緯度,並通過比較當地中午時間(太陽位於天空最高點的時間)與顯示格林威治標準時間的時鐘,來確定自己的經度。現代導航主要依賴於GPS及類似衛星系統的信號。
