Description: 科學模型可以是物理的、數學的、概念的或類比的，其目的是表示和/或解釋某個過程、系統或現象的某些方面。科學模型也可以用於進行預測，但這並不意味著不進行預測的模型就不是科學的。科學模型並不總是“真實”世界的表徵，而是幫助我們探索那些抽象、無形且難以理解的概念的工具。例如，地心模型雖然不代表太陽系的現實，但在討論與天球有關的概念時仍然會使用。有時需要多個模型來完整地解釋一個概念。
