Description: 本影在拉丁語中是 "陰影 "的意思。在食現象中，本影是觀測者看到一個天體完全遮擋另一個天體光線的區域。以日食為例，任何位於本影區的觀測者都會看到太陽的圓面被月球完全遮住。另一方面，位於半影區的觀測者只能看到偏食--日食中，太陽圓面僅被月球部分覆蓋。如果觀測者看到的物體太小，無法完全覆蓋其後面的物體，如日環食，則稱觀測者位於偽本影區。另一個含義：太陽黑子內部最暗的區域稱為本影，周圍較暗的區域稱為半影。
