Description: 電子是一種較輕的基本粒子,帶有一個單位的負電荷。我們周圍的所有物質都是由原子組成的,而所有原子都具有相同的基本結構:一個微小而緻密的原子核,包含幾乎所有原子的質量,周圍則環繞著電子。電子被概念化為圍繞原子核存在於同心殼層中,這些殼層的結構決定了原子與其他原子結合形成分子的方式,這是化學的物理基礎。在白矮星中,電子的量子特性提供了必要的壓力,防止這些恆星殘骸在自身引力下坍縮。
