Description: 恆星或其他天體的色指數是指用兩個不同顏色或波段（如黃色和藍色）測量的亮度或星等之間的差值。最常見的色指數是 (B-V)，其中 B 是通過標準藍色濾光片測量的星等，V 是通過標準黃色濾光片測量的星等。B 濾光片類似於老式照相底片的感色度，而 V 濾光片則類似於人眼的感色度。對於恆星來說，(B-V)是對溫度的度量，不過它也會受到恆星之間塵埃導致的紅化的影響。
