Description: 暗星雲是太空中由氣體和塵埃組成的冷雲，它阻擋了來自其後面的恆星和明亮星雲的大部分光線，因此看起來很暗。儘管塵埃僅占星雲中物質的1%，但正是塵埃阻擋了來自後面的光線。暗星雲會阻擋可見光和紫外線，但通過紅外線還是可以看到它們。最著名的例子就是獵戶座的馬頭星雲。
