Description: 多普勒效應是指由於波源相對於觀測者的運動導致聲波或光波的檢測波長(或頻率)發生變化的現象。該效應使天文學家能夠研究任何發出波(如電磁輻射)的天體(如恆星、星系、氣體等)的運動。例如,當一顆恆星發出的輻射在特定波長上有光譜線時,所有光譜線的波長都會發生位移。對於速度遠小於光速的情況,多普勒頻移(或波長變化)與波源在觀測者視線方向上的相對速度除以光速成正比。
