Glossary term: Estructura Atómica
Description: La estructura atómica es la organización interna de las partículas de un átomo. Indica cuántos neutrones y protones se pueden encontrar en el núcleo de un átomo y describe cómo cada una de estas partículas está formada por quarks. También muestra que los electrones están en movimiento permanente alrededor de este núcleo, en diferentes niveles según su energía. Los átomos son eléctricamente neutros porque tienen el mismo número de electrones y protones. Un átomo puede cargarse al perder o absorber un electrón, en cuyo caso se convierte en un ion.
