Description: Un niveau d'énergie est un état d'énergie quantique discret autorisé au sein d'un atome ou d'une molécule. Il est mesuré en électronvolts (eV). Lorsqu'un électron d'un atome ou d'une molécule passe d'un niveau d'énergie supérieur à un niveau d'énergie inférieur, un photon est émis avec une énergie égale à la différence d'énergie entre les deux niveaux. De même, un photon peut être absorbé par un atome ou une molécule si son énergie est égale à la différence d'énergie entre le niveau actuel et un niveau supérieur.
