Description: Un astronaute est une personne qualifiée pour faire partie de l'équipage d'un vol spatial. Les astronautes sont formés au fonctionnement des fusées et des stations spatiales, et à la résolution de problèmes techniques spécialisés propres aux voyages en dehors de l'atmosphère terrestre. Ils sont souvent formés pour mener des expériences scientifiques dans l'espace. Quelques astronautes ont même marché sur la Lune. Le terme "astronaute" était à l'origine utilisé pour désigner les équipages spatiaux des États-Unis d'Amérique, mais il est désormais un terme général utilisé par de nombreux pays différents. L'équipage spatial russe est appelé cosmonaute, l'équipage spatial chinois est souvent appelé taikonaute et l'équipage spatial européen est appelé spationaute.
