Glossary term: Satellite
Description: Un satellite est un objet en orbite autour d'une planète, d'une planète naine ou d'un corps plus petit tel qu'un astéroïde. Il peut s'agir de satellites artificiels lancés par l'homme ou de satellites naturels, généralement appelés lunes. La Terre a un satellite naturel, la Lune, et de nombreux satellites artificiels en orbite autour d'elle.
Le terme de galaxie satellite est également parfois utilisé pour désigner une galaxie en orbite autour d'une autre galaxie.
