Description: Io è una luna, o un satellite, in orbita intorno a Giove, scoperta da Galileo Galilei nel 1610. È il più vicino dei quattro satelliti maggiori di Giove. Io orbita intorno a Giove ogni 42,5 ore, a una distanza di 422.000 chilometri dal pianeta. Io ha molti vulcani attivi sulla sua superficie come conseguenza delle forti correnti di marea sperimentate dal satellite mentre ruota intorno a Giove.
