Shaw-IAU Workshops by the OAE

Within the framework of the expansion of Arab cooperation at all levels, we seek under the vision of the IAU-Office of Astronomy for Education to extend the horizons of the Arab cooperation to include the astronomy Education in the Arab world and to exchange experiences in this field.

The session will discuss the systems and curricula of astronomy education in Arabic-speaking countries and the role of the Arab cooperation in the areas of Astronomy Education, Development and Outreach

The session will include the following topics:

· Astronomy curricula in the Arab world between the reality and the hopefull
· Suggestions about ways to expand the Astronomy Education for the pre-university stages
· Teaching astronomy as part of the basic sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering and Geography
· The role of modern technologies in the development of astronomy education
