Glossary term: 反物质

Description: 20 世纪初,理论物理学家意识到,每一种粒子都应该有一种相应的反粒子——一种质量相同,但性质完全相反,特别是电荷相反的粒子。几年后,人们发现了电子的反粒子——正电子,其质量与电子相同,但电荷相反。对于某些中性粒子,如光子,其反粒子就是其自身。当粒子和相应的反粒子相遇时,它们会湮灭形成光子。反粒子构成反物质,而我们的宇宙似乎主要由物质而不是由反物质构成。而这一切之所以发生的细节,仍是一个正在研究的课题。
