Description: 双星系统是指两个大小相当的天体在自身引力作用下相互绕轨道运行的任何系统。这可能是双星，即两颗恒星相互绕行；也可能是双黑洞，即两个天体都是黑洞；还可能是由一个黑洞和一个中子星组成的双星系统。双星系统中的天体围绕系统的质心运行。当其中一个天体比另一个天体轻得多时，例如恒星和行星，或行星和卫星，使用双星系统一词仍然是合适的，但不太常见。
