Glossary term: 宇宙射线

Description: 宇宙射线是在宇宙中运动的高能带电粒子(如质子、重元素核和电子)。

宇宙射线可以进入地球大气层。原生宇宙射线可能来自太阳、太阳系、银河系或遥远的星系。它们由质子(约占 90%)、氦核(约占 9%)、更重的原子核和电子(约占 1%)以及极少量的反物质组成。来自宇宙的电磁辐射不是宇宙射线。

如果高能宇宙射线进入地球大气层,它会与大气粒子相互作用,产生大量的二级带电粒子,称为二级宇宙射线。能量最高的宇宙射线是核粒子,其动能相当于一个时速约 150 公里的网球。不过,这种能量最高的粒子很少见,大多数能量较低。
