Description: Der Aufbau eines Atoms beschreibt, wie die Teilchen innerhalb des Atoms organisiert sind. Er gibt an, wie viele Neutronen und Protonen sich im Kern eines Atoms befinden und beschreibt wie jedes dieser Teilchen aus Quarks aufgebaut ist. Darüber hinaus zeigt der Aufbau eines Atoms, dass sich die Elektronen in der sogenannten Atomhülle in ständiger Bewegung um den Atomkern befinden - und zwar je nach ihrer Energie auf verschiedenen Niveaus. Atome sind elektrisch neutral, weil sie die gleiche Anzahl von Elektronen und Protonen haben. Ein Atom kann Elektronen verlieren oder aufnehmen. Dann ist es elektrisch geladen und wird zu einem Ion.
