Glossary term: Acreción

Description: La acreción es el proceso por el que un objeto astrofísico capta materia adicional, normalmente gas o polvo, por su atracción gravitatoria. La acreción se produce en muchos escenarios astronómicos diferentes, entre los que se incluyen los siguientes: gas que se acreta en un agujero negro, estrellas en sistemas binarios que acretan materia de su compañera, estrellas jóvenes que acretan gas de un disco de material que las rodea, y galaxias que acretan estrellas de otras galaxias.
