Glossary term: Cycle solaire
Description: Le cycle solaire est le cycle d'environ 11 ans du nombre de taches solaires, d'éruptions solaires et d'autres formes d'activité sur le Soleil. Cette activité est générée par le champ magnétique global du Soleil. Comme ce champ magnétique passe de la polarité nord à la polarité sud tous les onze ans, il faut une période complète de 22 ans pour que les pôles magnétiques du Soleil retrouvent leur configuration d'origine.
