Glossary term: Ciclo solare

Description: Il ciclo solare è il ciclo di circa 11 anni del numero di macchie solari, brillamenti solari e altre forme di attività sul Sole. Questa attività è generata dal campo magnetico generale del Sole. Poiché questo campo magnetico passa dalla polarità nord a quella sud ogni undici anni, ci vogliono ben 22 anni perché i poli magnetici del Sole tornino alla loro configurazione originale.
