Hans ESSONE OBAME is a lecturer and researcher at the École Normale Supérieure of Libreville (Gabon), specializing in applied physics.
His work focuses on the characterization of photovoltaic panels in an equatorial environment, the study of electrical defects in solar installations, and the impact of fretting corrosion in electrical contacts. He recently led a research project at the Institut de Physique de Rennes (France) on the influence of atmospheric composition on connector corrosion in hot and humid environments.
In addition, he plays an active role in the development of science education in Gabon. He is involved in the NGO (Initiatives pour l’Expérimentation Scientifique au Gabon, INEXS-Gabon), through which he organizes workshops and educational activities for students and teachers. He also contributes to the design of entrance exams for organizational sciences program
Passionate about astronomy, he serves as the National Outreach Coordinator (NOC) for Gabon with the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and actively works to popularize this discipline in his country. He organizes events, workshops, and training sessions to promote astronomy among the general public and the educational community in Gabon. As part of this effort, he collaborates with the Société d’Astronomie de Rennesto develop astronomy awareness and education projects in Gabon.
