I’ve taught Astronomy, including Planetary Science, Astrobiology and Space Exploration, for 5 decades. My aim has been to make Astronomy accessible to all ages and academic abilities. I retired in 2016 from a long career as a secondary school science teacher.

Karen is an associate professor in the School of Physical and Chemical Sciences at the University of Canterbury (UC) and the Director of the UC Mt John Observatory. Her research involves investigating the structure and evolution of stars and planetary systems.
