Glossary term: Mapa Celeste
Description: Um mapa que indica a posição de objetos astronômicos (estrelas, planetas, o Sol, a Lua, etc.) no céu em um determinado momento.
Os mapas celestes permitem que os astrônomos encontrem a localização dos objetos no céu noturno e podem ser usados para navegação.
Os pesquisadores astronômicos modernos fazem mapas celestes como parte de pesquisas astronômicas que registram uma grande variedade de informações sobre os objetos que estudam.
Mapas celestes interativos para o público em geral estão disponíveis como programas de computador ou aplicativos móveis.
