Description: 粒子物理学是物理学的一个分支，研究物质的最小成分，包括构成原子的粒子（电子、中子和质子），以及构成中子和质子的粒子（所谓的夸克）。这些粒子和更多奇特的短寿命粒子可以在粒子加速器中产生。粒子在粒子加速器中发生高能量碰撞，从而产生各种其他粒子。所谓的粒子物理学标准模型描述了所有已知的基本粒子及其相互作用。一些天体物理物体，特别是恒星质量或超大质量黑洞的喷流或超新星爆炸，是天然的粒子加速器。以这种方式加速的宇宙粒子会以宇宙射线的形式到达我们身边。
